However, using the Internet to sell your home doesn't just stop there. Someone selling a home needs to take advantage of the many video sites that are on the Internet as well. To do this, simply convert the listing photos into a video (using video editing software such as Pinnacle Studio, Sony Vegas, iMovie etc. or websites such as Animoto) and then upload the video to sites like YouTube, Viddler, Yahoo Video etc.
Unfortunately, placing listings on all those real estate sites and uploading videos to all those video sites is time consuming and unfortunately, most real estate agents don't offer all these services. Many are stuck in the old days of marketing. There is nothing wrong with the more traditional ways of marketing, but there are many more ways today to get your home in front of the most people.
Fortunately, it appears that the trend may be beginning to change. One good thing about the real estate bust is that it has opened the doors for new real estate firms to break that traditional mold. More and more real estate companies not only syndicate their listings to over 20 other websites, but some are even creating and submitting their virtual tours to the top video directories on the internet. The ones who really know what they are doing are even doing the keyword research necessary to bring those submissions to the top of the major search engines, Not only that, but we are also seeing a trend starting in which real estate companies are becoming more flexible with their commission structures. Some real estate firms now allow clients to choose from many different plans to meet their clients various financial needs.
Real estate companies, like any other business, must change with the times. With technology changing so quickly, it seems that real estate agents are going to have to follow this new trend or they are going to be left behind.
